We would be happy for you to use the images from The Poets’ Corner on your new website, as long as the estate is credited and that there is no commercial enterprise. Best wishes, Julia Julia Wyatt Berlin Associates 7 Tyers Gate London SE1 3HX Tel: +44 (0)20 7632 5282 http://www.berlinassociates.com ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Brittany Harbidge Date: Wed, 17 Jul 2019 at 15:25 Subject: Fleming Collection Copyright Request To: info@artistscollectingsociety.org.uk Dear Kimberley, Firstly, apologies for the length of this email. Following our conversation, I have listed all the works by members of the Artists Collecting Society which we need to clear copyright for. I have also included some information about the Fleming Collection, and an example screenshot of an image in situ on the website. For a brief overview, of who we are, the Fleming Collection has the finest collection of Scottish art outside museums and is a registered charity, which promotes Scottish art and creativity outside Scotland. We are launching a new website soon, which will include our entire collection listed online for the first time. Each object will have an individual record, and we are of course hoping to include as many images as possible. The images will only be available to view onscreen and won’t be available to download. There will be an image of each work on the individual record page, and images of works may be used in promoting exhibitions and news stories across the website. The images will not be used commercially in any way (we don’t even a shop facility on the new website, and our curated exhibitions are free to the public – should we need to print an image for exhibition promotion in a leaflet for example, we would come back to you to clear that copyright separately). Below I have included four screenshots of an example record, with a Joan Eardley painting in our collection, plus two screenshots, one of our homepage, and one of our current exhibitions page, to show how images may be used across the website. On the individual object record, copyright information will sit in the ‘details’ section underneath the image, with all other information about the artwork. The artists works we have in our collection, and the images of work we would like to use are: William Baillie, White Jug and Flowers, c. 1994, oil on canvas William Baillie, Dark Banners and Offerings, date unknown, watercolour on paper Max Beerbohm, The Poet’s Corner, 1904, set of 22 prints Nathan Coley, The Lamp of Sacrifice – 286 Places of Worship, Edinburgh, 2004, oil on canvas James Cowie, Self Portrait with Artist’s First Wife, Nancy, date unknown, oil on canvas James Cowie, Girl’s Head, c. 1930, pencil on paper William Frazer, An Atholl Moorland, date unknown, oil on canvas William Frazer, Rocky Coast, date unknown, oil on canvas William Oliphant Hutchison, Reading Aloud/Margery and the Boys, 1929, oil on canvas Dorothy Johnstone, Cecile Walton, 1918, oil on canvas Dorothy Johnstone, Girl with Fruit, 1925, oil on canvas William McCance, The Result, 1924, oil on canvas James Morrison, L’Obiou from the north-east, 1980, oil on board James Morrison, L’Obiou from the north-east, date unknown, oil on panel James Morrison, Snow on the Hills above a Valley, date unknown, oil on board James Morrison, Crown Terrace, Glasgow, 1976, oil on canvas James Morrison, Old Montrose, Winter, 1978, oil on gesso James Morrison, Ice and Sky, Grise Ford, 1995, oil on board James Morrison, Slains Park, Aberdeenshire, 1962, oil on linen James Morrison, Old Bridge, Saint Cyrus, date unknown, oil on gesso James Morrison, Clouds Above the Grampians, 1982, oil on canvas James Morrison, Farm March, date unknown, oil on board James Morrison, Nets, 1969, pastel on paper Anne Patrick, Freesias, 1981, oil on board Denis Peploe, Flowers Fruit and Checked Cloth, oil on canvas Willie Rodger, Leaf Fall, 1995, oil on board David Sutherland, Bank Holiday, Portobello Beach, date unknown, oil on canvas David Sutherland, Breton Harvest, c. 1920, oil on panel David Sutherland, Drying the Nets, Concarneau, c. 1924, oil on canvas David Sutherland, Daytrippers, Dunoon, 1920, chalk and watercolour on paper David Sutherland, Breton Dancers, Concarneau, c. 1924, oil on canvas Adam Bruce Thomson, Haystacks and Woodland, date unknown, oil on board Frances Walker, Wester Ross Landscape, date unknown, watercolour on paper We hope you look on our request favourably.
