Can you send me a link to the website after the launch next week? Launch is currently scheduled for next week, which I appreciate is tight. I can remove the Philip Reeves image from the website, and upload it when the paperwork and permissions come through? I must have approved that sometime ago, my memory is failing me! In answer to your query, the credit lines should be what Bridgeman advised, which is along the lines of © the artist’s estate/Bridgeman Images. We’re in the process of signing over copyright for Philip Reeves’ estate, but the paperwork is still to come through. I’m happy to give you gratis permission similar to our other artists, but I’d rather wait until we have the paperwork. When do you need to move with this? Bridgeman have granted us a zero rated license for Michie, Redpath, Gillies and Littlejohn (I had a few other artists to request permission from through Bridgman so included them as well). So as to do everything properly, is a zero rated license from bridgeman enough, or do we need permissions from you as well? In regard to Philip Reeves, I didn’t know you also had his copyright – Open Eye Gallery forwarded a letter to his estate holder for us last week, but I haven’t heard anything back from them, so could we apply to you fro permission to use our Reeves image? We only have one Reeves in the collection, Vapour Trail over the Hill, 1973. Credit line is just what you would prefer for the copyright details, in this case we would normally use ? the artists estate or similar, if that would be ok? Do you have a contact email address for Sally Michie, so I can contact her please? I will be sure to send you a link to the website once it is launched. Good news Re your website, but a lot of work for you! I am copying Sandy Wood at the RSA as he is the best person to contact Re copyright for both my father and grandmother’s work. I am also copying Colin Greenslade of the RSA as Sandy is on holiday until the end of the month, I believe. With regard to the copyright of Alastair Michie, you will need to contact his widow, Sally Michie, as I am unaware of the arrangements for his copyright. Please note the spelling of my uncle Lindsay’s name whose portrait you have on loan from his widow, Betty, and their son, Peter, in Australia. Please clarify what you mean by the credit line for each artist. Perhaps Sandy or Colin can advise? I know you have had the RSA grant us a licence for your grandmothers work before, but I also need to ask your permission to use images of your fathers work, and I wondered if you were the correct person to ask about the work of Alastair Michie?
