However, I feel that it is best that the waver information is left to my colleague Sandy Wood, as I know that there are caveats associated with the reproduction of the works by Anne Redpath RA RSA as stipulated by David Michie RSA. Sandy will be best placed to assist you. He returns to the office on Monday 29th July. I expect that he can also assist with a credit details format. Good news Re your website, but a lot of work for you! I am copying Sandy Wood at the RSA as he is the best person to contact Re copyright for both my father and grandmother’s work. I am also copying Colin Greenslade of the RSA as Sandy is on holiday until the end of the month, I believe. With regard to the copyright of Alastair Michie, you will need to contact his widow, Sally Michie, as I am unaware of the arrangements for his copyright. Please note the spelling of my uncle Lindsay’s name whose portrait you have on loan from his widow, Betty, and their son, Peter, in Australia. Please clarify what you mean by the credit line for each artist. Perhaps Sandy or Colin can advise? I am in touch with some copyright requests – we are soon to be launching a new website, which will feature our entire collection online for the first time. Each object will have its own record, and we are obviously hoping to use as many images as possible. I know you have had the RSA grant us a licence for your grandmothers work before, but I also need to ask your permission to use images of your fathers work, and I wondered if you were the correct person to ask about the work of Alastair Michie? The works we have are: Alastair Michie Heat of the Night, 1991 David Michie Anticoli Corrado with Mountain Snow, 1954 Flying a Kite, les Sables d’Olonne, 1998 Black Girls Walking in a Sunny Shower, Washington, 1978 Bird in a Forest, 1992 Bird in Cage Pink Garden (The Garden of Elizabeth Blackadder and John Houston), c. 1982 Anne Redpath Rayonanthus on a Pale Blue Ground Still Life on Blue Ground, c. 1945 Courtyard in Venice, 1964 Frosty Morning, Trow Mill, 1936 Madonna The Pink Table, c. 1944 Houses on a Hill, c. 1958 Woman Praying Before an Altar Spain, c. 1956 Amsterdam Buildings, c. 1963 Houses at Ashkirk Little Sancturary Still Life – The Orange Chair, c. 1944 Still Life with Painted Chest, 1953 Sit Walter Scott’s Cottage, 1935 Old Buildings, Spain, 1950 The Gourds, 1959 Altar in San Nicolo Dei Mendicoli II, 1964 Widow in Menton, 1948 Portrait of Lindsey Michie Portrait of James Michie If you are happy to grant permission, could you let me know the preferred credit line for each artist please.
